stay·ca·tion
ˌstāˈkāSHn/
nouninformal
a vacation spent in one’s home country rather than abroad, or one spent at home and involving day trips to local attractions.
After the past few weeks I have been having, a small getaway was much needed. When the opportunity came to spend all weekend getting waited on hand and foot with my hubby I had to jump on the offer. We checked in Friday evening at the W Atlanta Buckhead and from the beginning our entire experience was seamless. We were greeted by super friendly and knowledgeable staff who informed us on everything the hotel had to offer along with explaining anything we may have had questions about. What I loved about the entrance of the hotel is that it wasn’t your typical hotel entrance. We had valet for our car and the waiting area/lounge area in the hotel was chic and cute! Perfect space for relaxing other than your room or enjoying a cocktail from the bar.
From check-in we went to our room which was clean, nice, and comfy. But, I wouldn’t expect anything less at the W. Plenty of space for us to enjoy our weekend of relaxation. This wasn’t our first stay in a W Hotel so we already knew the beds were going to be amazingly comfy. Since it was just me and hubby the room size we had was just enough for the two of us. If you’re planning a hotel stay for more than two people I would suggest checking out their suites.
Saturday we woke up and enjoyed brunch at Another Broken Egg one of our favorite breakfast spots and checked out the gym in the hotel for a quick workout session. The gym is equipped with just enough equipment so if you are used to a full gym you can still get what you need done without leaving the hotel.
We wanted to relax at the pool and enjoy a swim but it was unfortunately closed for construction during our weekend stay so we’ll have to pop back in for a swim since it’s warming up. But from the photos of the pool area I really wish it was open. Loving the view you get while swimming.
If you recall before I mentioned how nice the staff at the hotel was at check-in etc. Well, when we returned to our room we had a bottle of champagne waiting for us sent by the hotel. How nice was that? Just to enjoy my husband all weekend, get waited on hand and foot, amazing food, and drinks was all I could ask for during a weekend “getaway”.
If you’re looking to take a break from home and not necessarily have the time to go out of town on a vacation I would recommend trying out a staycation. If you’re in the Atlanta area plan your stay with W Atlanta Buckhead and tell them I sent you and if you stay there definitely let me know how your stay goes.
Enjoy!
