Clinique 3 Step Review

Clinique 3 Step Review by popular Atlanta beauty blogger, Xo Jasmine

Even people who have seemingly flawless skin types can be prone to blemishes, dead skin, and everything in between. I break out like the next person and I’ve tried so many different regimens to fix it.

Of course, drinking more water always helps and I’ve definitely took up my water intake but I needed to add in a cleanser for everyday makeup wear, beauty products, etc.

I came across Clinique from my mom and decided to stop by the Clinique counter one day while I was at the mall. So glad I did. It’s been the best product with dramatically different moisturizing for my sensitive and oily skin.

Before I dived in, I read the product labels and descriptions to understand how to use the products and what to expect. I also read several hundred products reviews (both professional and customers) to get a feel of others’ experiences with this system.

If you have sensitive skin, the Clinique 3-step skincare system is definitely the product line I’d recommend for you.

MY CLINIQUE 3 STEP REVIEW

The Liquid Facial Soap

When I first tried the liquid soap, I absolutely fell in love with the way it made my skin feel. It doesn’t dry your skin out. I faithfully use the Clinique cleanser twice a day. I find that this cleanser works best for me. This product removed all of the make-up from my face with one wash.

I did try other brands for a month (Neutrogena, broke my skin out like CRAZY), and it totally did me no good. I felt my skin was cloying with oil and buildup, and when I switched back to Clinique it went back to being great.

The Clarifying Lotion

Before the 3-Step System, I never used a toner. John at the Clinique counter, however, showed me somewhat of a magic trick and now I don’t look back. It’s called the ‘Back of the hand’ test, and it shows the importance of the second step of the three steps in the system.  On my left hand we cleansed and moisturized only and on the right, we did the complete Clinique 3-Step system.

I was amazed at how much excess oil the Clarifying Lotion was able to pick up, but not only does it show that the product works this experiment also demonstrated how important all three steps are.

The package ingredients indicated this product contains alcohol and witch hazel. These two can irritate some skin types and be very drying. I did not have this problem although I kept a close watch out for it.

I use a cotton ball to apply the toner which worked perfectly. This toner effectively removes leftover impurities and leaves skin feeling clean and tingly.

The Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion+

The Clinique’s Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion+ is my absolute favorite Clinique product! It’s the last step in the three step process and it leaves your skin feeling so refreshed. It’s a great complement to the clarifying lotion as it soothes any tingly feeling from exfoliating. I use this only once a day when I do the process at night.

I love the shape of the bottle and the pump dispenser. There isn’t much of a scent, another thing I love about it. If you are after a lighter moisturizer I would suggest the Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturizing Gel – another great Clinique product.

Overall I found the products affordable and they last the distance.  It took me over three months to get through the Liquid Facial Soap and I’m only half way through my Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturizing Gel.

It is also good to note that the right skin care can mean better looking and longer lasting makeup.

Often the best solution to skin’s needs is the simplest one. Clinique understands the allure of simplicity with the Clinique 3-Step Skincare System.

Do you have a favorite cleanser that you use? What has been your thoughts on the Clinique brand if you’ve used it? Have you tried the Clinique 3 Step process for sensitive skin? Let me know in the comments below, I’d love to hear your experiences.
