Happy Tuesday! I’m kicking this day off following up with part two of our Kansas City travel guide. When I mentioned in my previous post about our full itinerary, you’re probably starting to see what I mean. Places like Kansas City have created a space genuinely fit for all ages. Scroll below to read about our Kansas City travel guide for day two.

After a fantastic night of sleep at our hotel, we ventured about five minutes away to grab a coffee to get our day started at Messenger Coffee. This place was the cutest setup for a coffee shop I’ve ever seen. It was three floors with a coworking vibe and rooftop area that overlooked the city. Founded in 2013, Messenger was born out of a collaboration between three coffee companies with like-minded people coming together to create a Kansas City coffee company focused on great coffee and good relationships. The story of how and why this company was formed is one you want to check out.

Following coffee, we had brunch at Union Station Harvey’s Restaurant. This setup of the restaurant is beautiful. It’s in the center of the Grand Hall in Union Station Kansas City. The menu had a great variety which was perfect for us having a picky toddler. Whether we wanted brunch or lunch, the menu was available to try both, and the food was delicious. Once we finished eating, we were able to go right downstairs and visit the Dinosaurs Revealed Exhibit where we were able to go deep into life during the Triassic, Jurassic and Cretaceous periods. We had hands-on opportunities face-to-face with 26 life-size dinosaurs and learned about each period of life for them. The exhibit is open from June 30 – September 3 and September 4 – March 24, 2019.

When we finished the exhibit, we went right next door to Science City. Science City is a place of wonder, where kids and adults can find something new with each visit. We didn’t know what to expect, but we were overwhelmed by all of the fantastic things you can do here. Science City makes learning science fun with so many incredible hands-on activities that all ages can try. I may have personally gone overboard as the parent who wanted to do everything. If you saw my Instagram stories, you know we had a blast!

If all of that wasn’t enough, we went right across the street back to our hotel and through the Crown Center building to visit Kaleidoscope. On my Kansas City travel guide day one post, I shared how convenient our hotel was being connected to the Crown Center and when we visit Kansas City again, this is where we’re staying. We completed our busy day with dinner at a local pizza spot, Waldo Pizza which was amazing and dessert at Betty Rae’s Ice Cream which had a line wrapped around the building. Yes, it’s that good.
