Spooky Halloween Treats

Halloween is near, and that means making spooky treats with your little ones! From ghost cookies to pumpkin patch brownies, holiday-centric goodies are a sure way to get everyone in the mood for a light-hearted trick or sweet treat. 

Below are some of my family’s favorite treats to make, ranging from quick and easy to make sure you have your apron on and paper towels near! 

Marshmallow Mummy Treats

Ditch the toilet paper and grab a few marshmallows to create the cutest mummy treats that won’t rise from the dead! Surprise your co-workers at the Halloween holiday party or spend quality time with your little ones in the kitchen; these treats are perfect for mummy and me time! 

Marshmallow Mummy Treats

What You’ll Need:

  • 10 Jet-Puffed marshmallows
  • 20 candy eyes
  • Ten lollipop sticks or straws
  • One bag of white chocolate candy

Directions:

  1. Place your white chocolate candy in a microwave-safe bowl and heat for 30 seconds or until candy is melted. Set it to the side to let it cool. 
  2. Place marshmallows on your lollipop sticks or straws and lay them on parchment paper or aluminum foil.
  3. Place your melted chocolate in a piping bag, or a Ziploc bag with the tip cut off for pipping. 
  4. Pipe your white chocolate onto your marshmallows in lines, and a few on top of each other like it were wrapped in linen cloth. 
  5. Add your candy eyes to each marshmallow. 
  6. Allow your mummies to dry.
  7. ENJOY!  

Spider Web Rice Krispie Treats

Trap the spirit of Halloween with “Spider Web Rice Krispy Treats.” These easy and sticky treats are perfect and quick for little ones to get in the mood for the spooky season. Your spider webs might be messy to make, but once, dry these sweet treats are perfect for Halloween get-togethers, after-dinner delights, or school parties! 

Spider Web Rice Krispie Treats

What You’ll Need:

Rice Krispy Treats (store brought or homemade)

Frosting (2-3 Halloween inspired colors)

Marshmallows

Lollipop Sticks

Candy Eyes

Directions:

  1. Spread frosting on one side of your Rice Krispy treats
  2. Allow frosting to dry for 15-20 minutes 
  3. While frosting dries, place 7-10 marshmallows in a microwavable bowl for 30 seconds until they begin to grow. Stir marshmallows promptly after removing them from the microwave. Allow marshmallows to cool before handling.
  4. Using your hands or a spoon, grab a bit of marshmallow and spread on your Rice Krispy treats! Warning: this step is messy; proceed playfully! 
  5. Add your eye candies. 
  6. If desired, add lollipop sticks for east transportation or handling. 
  7. ENJOY!
