Next stop… vacation! Traveling is such an exciting and eye-opening way to view the world, meet new people, and experience different cultures. Before we head out, we need to make sure we have all the travel essentials for women! I know packing is probably the top 3 most annoying, time-consuming projects that need their own day to tackle. We always try to pack everything so that we don’t end up forgetting anything just to get to our hotel and realize that we left our favorite soap.
I know what it’s like firsthand to be going over your mental checklist the night before a vacation. That stressful feeling of making sure that everything you need is packed as well as getting the kids and the hubby’s bag together. It can be very different packing for yourself than packing for men and little ones. Ladies need a bit more stuff than men, from skincare to OOTDs, gadgets, safety tools, and more.
Whether you are going to the beach, the amusement park, a trip out of the state, or the country, I found some nice travel-size essential items that are sure to be top tier on your checklist.
Travel Essentials for Women
Essentials can vary from woman to woman but most people always like to at least include leggings, a camera, security alarm keychain, mini travel wallet, comfortable shoes, etc.
Each item is important you pack is important so you shouldn’t take it lightly or it may cause you to have to purchase new items for each one of your trips and that’s not fun and also put you over budget. But on the flip side, you also want to make sure that you don’t go overboard and have to pay extra for over-weight bags or strain your body attempting to lift your bag up a few hotel stairs.
Beach Travel Essentials:
Beach babes, I have you covered! Whether you like to soak in the sun, catch a wave or nap in the cabana, there are necessities that every beachgoer needs in their bag.
When you are packing for fun in the sun, one major item that everyone seems to forget, but needs to become a high priority, is high-quality sunscreen. Your skin is your body’s largest organ, let’s protect it at all costs! Here are a few of my beach must-haves when traveling that keep us cool and protected:
Staycation Essentials for Women:
Close your eyes and envision what your night would look like if you had the chance to endure a staycation. Whether it’s alone or with your significant other. What’s the first thing that you would have on your list of items needed for your weekend?. Are you thinking what I’m thinking … Well if you said wine and delicious food then you read my mind.
Whenever I prepare for a staycation I love to treat myself to the luxuries that I may not have at home on a regular basis. Some items that are always high on my must-pack list are nice candles, a great book, and these other trinkets:
Amusement Park Essentials:
When it comes to having outdoors fun and rejoining society, it is imperative that we are taking the necessary precaution to remain as socially distant as possible or at least minimize the spread of germs as much as possible.
On top of the germs, we all know how hot the park can be coupled with the extremely long lines can be a nightmare. So when you and the family load the car up to head to the park, you’ll definitely want to have these items in your bag:
Road Trip Travel Essentials:
Google Maps, anyone? Maybe you are one of those people who like to enjoy a good read on the way to vacay. Not everyone is a fan of long car rides to the next destination but with the help of some noise-canceling headphones, you can turn on your favorite playlist and create your own vibe.
Whether it’s a girls trip or a family vacation, it will be a good idea to add these items to your shopping cart before heading out:
Toiletry Travel Essentials for Women:
For most of us, we might as well pack the whole bathroom because you can never have too many toiletries. Between baby wipes, sanitary items, deodorant, floss, toothbrush & paste, dark make-up washcloth & regular washcloth, lip balm, shower gel, the list can be extremely long and leaves you more prone to forgetting something to include in your toiletry bag.
But for today we are going to work on keeping it simple. Here are some of my favorite products to keep in my travel bag at all times:
Tips for Traveling Smart
Now that you have your list of travel essentials, I wanted to provide a few tips for traveling smart.
1. Choose the Right Bag for your Trip:
Before you even begin deciding what to pack, it’s important to find a travel bag that’s as versatile as you need it to be, while also fitting all your stuff and being easy to carry – especially if you’re traveling solo. If you’re only going for the weekend a carry on bag with packing cubes may be best while if you’re going hiking you may want to consider something that is versatile, lightweight, and big enough to hold all your travel essentials
2. Grab Your Important Documents (passport, license, cash, and credit cards):
Start by collecting all of your important documents in a travel document organizer. By keeping everything in one place you’ll be better prepared to make sure nothing gets lost, forgotten, or misplaced.
3. Prepare your Home for Departure:
If you’re a female traveler going on an extended trip, it’s essential to get your home in order before you go. Be sure to consider unplugging unnecessary appliances, setting up timed outdoor lights schedule, lock away valuables, leave a key for a trusted friend to enter, and check on things from time to time.
4. Get the Travel Insurance:
One of the most common reasons people consider travel insurance is the worry that they may have to cancel their trip and lose money they’ve already paid for it. But other reasons can include getting sick, inclement weather (a pandemic for goodness sake), travel delays or lost, stolen, or delayed baggage. Although some may say none of these things will ever happen to their vacation, I like to believe better safe than sorry.
5. Most importantly, Have a Great Time:
Once you’re actually on your vacation it’s time to relax in the sun, enjoy your travel buddies and take a break from the world. Be sure that during your trip you take time to yourself to enjoy life. After all, YOLO!
Regardless if you’ve developed a love/hate relationship for packing before an adventurous trip or staycation, after reading this list you are sure to have all the travel essentials for women. I recommend keeping anything that you continuously use for every trip already packed, that way you know without a doubt that for your next vacation everything is already in there. Plus you’ll know exactly where to purchase your travel essentials, creating a less stressful packing situation.
